چکیده

Positron Emission Tomography - Computed (PET-CT) has been used to diagnose malignancy before surgery. However, there may be an increase in 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake PET scans benign conditions, leading a false-positive diagnosis of and unnecessary This PET-CT investigation is expensive not without risk, including radiation drug or contrast hypersensitivity. Although variable uterine uptakes FDG activities had reported the literature, unawareness its possibility conditions could lead false alarm malignancy. paper patient with finding presenting as malignant lesion for surgery, aiming raise clinical awareness this finding.

Pulmonary tuberculosis with false-positive 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography mimicking recurrent lung cancer: A case report

Recurrent lung cancer is a common clinical condition. 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) is currently the predominant non-invasive imaging technique used for the detection of tumor recurrence. In the present study, the case of a 67-year-old male suspected to have postoperative recurrence of primary lung cancer was examined. Chest computed tomography (CT) scans identif...

18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-positive sarcoidosis after chemoradiotherapy for Hodgkin’s disease: a case report

INTRODUCTION The occurrence of granulomatous disease in the setting of Hodgkin's disease is rare; however, when it occurs it can pose significant clinical and diagnostic challenges for physicians treating these patients. CASE PRESENTATION We report the case of a 33-year-old Caucasian woman of Mediterranean descent with newly diagnosed 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomogra...

Incidental finding of uterine adenomyosis in a bitch with reproductive disorders: a case report

Uterine adenomyosis, a disease not widely addressed in dogs, is characterised by the progressive penetration of endometrial glands and stroma into the myometrium, together with smooth-muscle hyperplasia. This report describes a case of adenomyosis in an 8-year-old German Shepherd bitch with mammary tumours, concomitant with cystic ovarian disease and endometrial cystic hyperplasia. Clinical sig...

18F-FDG avid in uterine leiomyoma: a case report.

The author presents a case of 18F-FDG avid in uterine leiomyoma. A 32-year old female had Hodgkin's lymphoma stage IVb (the primary lesions at bilateral supraclavicular right paratracheal, subcarina, intraabdominal, bilateral iliac lymph nodes with liver spleen and bone marrow involvement). She was sent for 18F-FDG PET/CT scan for detection of active lymphoma after chemotherapy treatment. The p...

False positive diagnosis of malignancy in a case of cryptogenic organising pneumonia presenting as a pulmonary mass with mediastinal nodes detected on fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography: a case report

INTRODUCTION We report the case of a patient with positive findings on a lung emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scan, with possible contra lateral mediastinal involvement, which strongly suggested an inoperable lung carcinoma. The lung mass proved to be a cryptogenic organising pneumonia. While the latter has previously been shown to be PET/CT positive, mediastinal involvement si...
